Trick or Treat

Just a little fun one today.....these are the new cellophane treat bags from the Stampin' Up Holiday Mini.  I made the "lollies" from the Newsprint Designer Series paper with my new Simply Scored tool (page 6 of your Holiday Mini).  These were so much fun to make once I got the nack of flattening them down into flowers, it only tooks about 2 mins to make each one.  Stay tuned for more lolly projects, check out the wreath in the Holiday Mini using the lollies - it's amazing and I have to try it!  I used the Batty for You stamp set, it's an all-time fave, and of course, I had to have it - BATTY for you!  These make some fun treats for friends.

That's all for now, I've got bread to make, muffins to bake, dinner to come up with and a mountain of laundry to have done before bedtime tonite!  Aaahhhh, Sunday afternoons spent getting ready for the week.

Thanks for stopping by......ttfn!

A little bit of Christmas....

I've been busy trying to come up with some ideas for Christmas time classes and clubs.  There are just so many cute things to try that I always find it hard to choose!  For this project, I chose the new Polar Party stamp set and the Pool Party paper (Designer and Cardstock).  The card is a shaker card made with the new shaker frames that make this project easy, peasy.  The inside is filled with the new Mica Flakes.  You can see all of these products in the Holiday Mini.  The little treat box is made with 2 scallop envelopes and I am off to see if I can find any mini candy canes to fill it with - wouldn't that just be so cute!!.  I somehow doubt I'll find any yet.....maybe I'm a little excited for Christmas - its my favorite time of year.
Here's another fun one made with the Mini jingle bells - how can anyone not like Christmas with mini jingle bells!!  The stamp set is Holiday Happiness and the paper is from the specialty pack of designer papers called Holly Berry Bouquet.

Thanks for stopping by........enjoy!

Fun Flower

A quick little post tonite, but here is a card I made the other day.  The background has been clear embossed with En Francais, which you can't even see in this picture, but it really does look great!  The flower is cut from the wood sheets from Stampin' Up, then run through my BigShot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, sponged with Pear Pizzazz and then with shimmer paint and stamped again with En Francais.  In real life, it's a really great embellishment - something a little different

That's all for now, gotta run and get organized for my daughter's early, early morning skate!

more playin' with Spice Cake

This card was made from the new Spice Cake paper.  The colors I used here are Early Espresso, More Mustard and Very Vanilla - must be the cloudy rainy weather that has brought on the feeling of fall.  The stamp set was the Easy Events Christmas stamp, but I chose to ink only the branch and not the greeting.  Instead of using the berries that are on the stamp, I wanted to use the bitty flower punch from the trio pack.  I punched a tiny design from the DSP and layered it onto a cardstock flower.  It's really hard to get a close up of these flowers to show you the dimension it gives the card, but I love how it turned out.  The ribbon is the More Mustard dotted scallop ribbon.  I love how this can be used on either side - again just more value for your money!

Hope you are as inspired by the fall feeling weather as I have been....enjoy your Sunday afternoon before another busy weeks sets in

See you soon.....

Stolen playtime!

Well, well, well.....I've finally just given up on the house and stole a little time to play.   This last couple of weeks since the kids went back to school and their numerous activities has been quite chaotic.  The beautiful weather made it feel like summer still and we just couldn't seem to get in the groove.  I think we are finally settling in to the busyness of the fall season and the weekend has been cloudy and rainy so of course it's time to lock myself in my workshop and not come out until spring!

The birdhouse is a template that came from the Stampin' Success magazine exclusive to demonstrators.  It was just so cute in the article that I had to make a few of my own - gave one to my sister and downline and kept this one for myself.  Just a little bit of whimsy.  The card is a club project from a couple of weeks ago using the Pennant Parade and co-ordinating punch, a fun birthday card with the new in colors of Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Pool Party.

Thanks for following along and stopping by.......

Spice Cake Club Project

Hiddy ho stampers!  Here comes the Box #2 Die again, I am lovin' the endless possibilities with it and the quick and easy go together.  This little box is going to be my place setting at Thanksgiving and inside will be a chocolate turkey for everyone(if he fits!)  The paper used is Spice Cake and you are going to fall in love with this new paper.  I've used the stamp set called Gently Falling and the greeting comes from the set Always Thankful.  Such a fun little project....

See you soon, I'm off and running - as usual!

Tea Bag Holder

Hiddy ho stampers!  Here is a fun little project made with some new In Colors and the individual stamp Tiny Teacup.  The colors are Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Lucky Limeade.  I am going to be using this for a club project later in September.  I absolutely love the little polka dot brads and used them for the centers of my flowers that I punched with the triple layer Blossom Bouquet Punch - these are a great way to get alot of value in your punch.  If you are interested in joining a club and live in my area, contact me today as clubs are resuming in September and I will have a few spots opening up.  Clubs are always alot of fun and I really look forward to each one, it's like having a whole bunch of friends over.  Some of my club girls have been with me since I started just about 3 years ago and I have really gotten to know them and love getting together.  It's always so much fun to share what you love doing and get paid to do it - now that's a great job!

Thanks for stopping by......

Ribbon Swap

Happy weekend peeps!  I know it's been a week since I've posted and I say it everytime, but seriously, I need to hire an assistant.  I just tried to post this here and blogger lost the whole thing....don't they know I don't have an extra 10 minutes in my day!    If I didn't have to take care of everything else, like children and housework, I'd have so much time for playing with my stamps - LOL!

Here is the ribbon swap that I recently did.  The fabric is coming out in your new Holiday Mini on September 1st and just look at those huge buttons - I just can't get enough Stampin' Up.  The box is a BigShot die, Box #2 and was so amazingly easy to put together, I'm sure you'll be seeing lots more of this one around

I'm off to try and get the next month's worth of club prep done - got that back to school, get organized feeling - maybe even get another little creation done

Till next time....thanks for stopping by - hope you enjoyed your stay!

Hello with Aviary

Wow, where did that week go - I didn't really realize how long it had been since I posted something!  So I'll post a few that I've made lately.  I have had a 15 month old who I swear is getting about 6 teeth at once and I can't even walk out of the room!

So here is a Mojo Monday sketch again.  This time using Sahara Sand and Poppy Parade with the Aviary and Tiny Tags stamp sets.  These colors are really great together - thanks to my super duper Color Coach.  I just love it - always so easy to put together some great colors that you may not normally reach for.

These two are wedding cards (obviously).  I just changed up the order of the colors - one is black and Melon Mambo and the other is Melon Mambo and Black.  Can't decide which way I like it better if I even like them at all - you know when you have those, just not my fave.  I think because I like wedding to be a little more traditional, but I am seeing lots of funky colors for weddings this year so that's what inspired these creations.

Last but not least, this one took me all week.  I started, got interrupted, started again, couldn't make it work, then finally last night, I managed to pull it together - I really like how it turned out.  I used the designer embossing frames and then inked on top of it to really make it stand out.  The pumpkin is from Button Buddies and the greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The colors are a little hard to tell in the picture, but again from the Color Coach they are More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy and So Saffron.  Must be the back to school feel that made me think Thansgiving already!

Happy Sunday Stampers!

Wedding Day

Here is another creation from today.  We have to go to a wedding tonite and I happen to know that the bride is a Stampin' Up fan - her invitations were all SU!  So I had to impress her!  I've used River Rock and Very Vanilla along with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder - an alltime fave.  I finally mastered the gathering seam binding, it took me a little while until I got it and I love, love, love how it turned out, layered it with a little vintage lace for a pretty little touch.  The mount for the greeting is the decorative label trick that I had mentioned a couple of posts back.   Some of you have asked that I share that little trick.   I believe that I saw it on Mary Fish's blog, she had a little 1 minute video on how to do it.  Basically, you punch 1 decorative label, then attach another piece of long scrap to the side of it, (glue dot) put it back into the punch only half way and punch again!  You can get 2 pieces doing it like this and I just love the elegance it gives you.  Give it a try, I showed it to my club girls and they loved it.  It's great to have a punch that can be used more than one way.

tata for now.....

Happy Birthday Addisyn

Happy weekend everyone - I finally got to do some creating today - this week has been good and busy spending lots of time with my brother and his family.  Kids have been to just about every beach around - lol!

My niece (my sister's daughter) is having her 3rd birthday party tomorrow and I had seen this bird quite a while ago and saved it until now - I just added the fence and scenery.  I just thought it was so perfect for her and so easy to make - all you need is a circle punch and a scallop circle punch - well actually the Word Window punch as well to make the fence.  I sponged the clouds in the sky with a scallop circle, added a little grass behind the fence, a flower and butterfly and I think it turned out darn cute!  Hope she likes it - actually hope her mom likes it too, there is always a friendly competition when it comes to family birthday cards - heehee!

Field Flowers Club Project

Happy Monday - here were are again, the beginning of a new week, the sun is trying to shine.  This is the second project for my club this month.  I have used Basic Gray, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant.  The matting for the greeting is made with the Decorative Label punch - a little trick I learned from another talented demonstrator and I am going to share it with my girls tomorrow night.  I love the 2 step stampin sets, you put the first stamp down and think "hmmm, it's ok...and then you put the second on top and it turns it to wow instantly!  I've also used those mini brads again - a pefect little somethin'

My brother and his family arrived last night from out of town, so I am hoping to find time to still post this week, but if you don't see much of me, it's because I am spending time with family.  I get to meet my niece I haven't met yet (she's 10 months old) and he will get to meet my daughter he hasn't met yet (she's 15 months old)  Sometimes I wished we all lived closer together

Thank you for stopping by.......hug someone you love today

Nursery Nest

Hiddy ho stampers!  This has got to be one of my most favorite color combinations Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride.    I always, always reach for green!  My house is green, my scraproom is green - I just love green and with pink and brown it's a match made in heaven!  This is the new designer paper called Nursery Nest, I loved the pink bird on the bottom of the 12x12, so I just cut her out and used it as my focal image instead of a stamped image.  The sketch started out as a Mojo Monday sketch and sort of evolved since my image was too large.  If you haven't ever worked with a sketch, I just love http://www.mojomonday.blogspot.com/ for their awesome sketches.  They really get the "mojo" flowing and stretch your own creativity.

Well, it's getting late and I have a little one clinging to my leg crying - she just won't go to sleep tonite, so I am off to try again

Thanks for peeking in

Nature Walk Birthday

Happy sunny Thursday stampers!

Today's post is made with the Nature Walk set, I am so happy this one made it into the IB&C.  I've used Early Espresso (an all time fave!)  Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  I am so sad though that the Early Espresso Satin Ribbon is no longer, although we can still get other colors, this one just looks so rich and yummy!  I've added a little piercing in a couple of corners and the new Mini Brads - these are just so....well, cute 'cuz their mini! and as I mentioned yesterday I love anything mini:)  I used this card last night for my nephews birthday (he's 20 something??) so I thought it served well as a more masculine card

Thanks for peeking in.....enjoy your day - do something that makes you smile - life's too short not too!

Scallop Envelope Box

Good morning stampers - here's the project I was working on.  If you've been following along for a while now or are part of my clubs, you will have figured out that I love anything mini, polka dots and bling - well, this cute little box and matching cards have all of it together!!  I made the box from the Scallop Envelope Die and the papers and embellishments came from the Tickets and Tags Simply Scrappin Kit (keep an eye out for more projects with this awesome kit)  The greetings were stamped with the Petite Pairs set on the Decorative Label Punch.  This kit makes putting together something like this so simple - everything is there for you.  The die cuts are self adhesive and I used to detest "stickers" but when I saw Stampin' Up's self adhesive die cuts, I was a changed woman!  These are so fantastic, they are thick and don't resemble a "sticker" at all....and of course, add a little rhinestone jewel for bling and it's complete!

Now I'm off to cook somethin' up for you for tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by........

Counting Fun with Barnyard Buddies

Happy Tuesday peeps!  I have been away for a few days relaxing with my family on the beautiful beaches of Vancouver Island.  Oh how I missed my stamp room, I would love to be able to take all my stampin' things with me but I think I might get in trouble with the "luggage department" in my house - LOL!

This was one of those sets that I just had to buy to make the project.  This little counting book is made with the Barnyard Buddies set and I normally would not have bought it, but the project in the Idea Book and Catalogue inspired me! I also used the two tags die and a mini alphabet set (that's another story for another day!)   So very simple to make - the only thing I may change is to limit the embellishments to something a little flatter so that I can have it laminated for my little one.  She saw it sitting on the table after I took the picture, grabbed it and immediately was ripped of the buttons, which tore the paper.  So maybe 14 months is a little young to learn how to count!

I can't wait to get all this vacation laundry done and be able to go play in my room tonite - I started a cute little project before I left and will finish it up so I can show it to you tomorrow.

Thanks for peeking in......

Thank you for stopping by......

I just wanted to say thank you to those who have recently started "following" my blog.  I love that you've stopped by and enjoyed it.....I am new to the blogging world and haven't figured out how to reply directly to the comments......so I figured I'd just post a quickie here....Thank you and i hope you continue to enjoy and be inspired!

Also, I have had a few questions about the Designer Frames embossing folders regarding a crease line that shows up on whisper white - I did have this happen although you can't really tell in the picture of the birthday wishes card/envelope post.  I turned to our ever helpful demos on Stampin' Connection and they said that if you use only 1 cutting plate and a thicker shim with your BigShot you won't get that crease line.  I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it should work!  Good Luck

Happy Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday stampers!  Today's creation is a little birthday envelope. Just mixin' up the traditional birthday card layout.   I used alot of fun products on here.....the new mini clothespins (how cute!), the Designer Frames embossing folders, the Four Frames Set(with co-ordinating Decorative Label punch of course) and the Petite Pairs set.  This would also work really well for a gift card holder, just attach your gift card where I have put the embossed frame...what about a little sucker attached to it for that special little person in your life - my kids would go crazy if I left them a secret little note with a lollipop attached!  I may just do that for our upcoming holidays - leave a little treat in their suitcases!

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by....hope you were inspired by something you saw here!

Some pretty butterflies

Hiddy ho Stampers!

For this card, I was playing with the new embossing folders.  They come 2 in a pack and are little frames, I just love them!  I masked off the frame so I could stamp the En Francais inside of it.  I used my Beautiful Wings Embosslit and the punch from the trio pack.  I don't know what I'd do without my Bigshot, so many possibilities all the time!  The colors are Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze.  I've been playing alot with the butterflies lately and made a card the other day (by request of my mom) and forgot to take a picture of it, but it was covered in a rainbow of butterflies - it turned out great and I'm sad that I didn't take a pic to share with you.  So in my frenzy of butterflies, it inspired my sister and downline to make some of her own.  Check hers out at http://www.sweetsevenstamps.blogspot.com/

Thanks for stopping by and I'm off to try and finish a cute project I am making for my youngest daughter, hopefully be back soon to share that with you.  Stay tuned......

Masculine Anniversary

This was the card that I made for my husband on our 12th anniversary (just last month).  He is an avid outdoorsman so this buck suited him well and the Newsprint DSP is so great. The buck image is embossed in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla textured cardstock Really quite a simple card, but I think he liked it.  Just a quick post today, I'm off and running........

More Faith in Nature

This set is just so pretty, I can't stop trying new things with it.  This one is done with watercoloring on Stampin' Ups great watercolor paper.  For all those who say they can't watercolor, you've got to try it on this paper with the blender pens - it's fool proof really!  I always envied my sister's ability to watercolor and now I just do what she does and it turns out beautiful everytime.  I've also used the new mini brads, just for that perfect little accent.  The colors are Lucky Limeade and Peach Parfait, with a a little crumb cake for the shadowing.  The flower also has some smooch on it, just a hint of bling and the new Striped Embossing Folder, I really don't know where I'd be with my embossing folders, I just LOVE them.  Stampin' Up really has outdone themselves this year, because I am in love with just about everything!!

Have a great weekend, sounds like we may even get some summer.   We have a nephew getting married tomorrow, so the family fesitivities have already begun.  I am hoping to get away from all the craziness just for a few minutes today to get a wedding card made.  Isn't that bad......a whole room full of possibilities and I wait till the very last minute to get the card made!

Faith in Nature

This was last week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I really love having a sketch in front of me to inspire me, sometimes it ends up looking just like the sketch and other times it takes on a completely different look - either way they are a great source of inspiration.  This is using the Faith In Nature hostess set and it's so beautiful.  For this card, I clear embossed the pear image and then used the resist technique with my sponge duabers over top.  I also got to use my Tasteful Trims die to make that nice big scallop edge.  You can make your own rick rack with it as well, think I'm really going to love using that one.  Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake are the two main colors used.  Enjoy!

My Top Picks

So last Saturday a bunch of local demonstrators got together and had a fun stampin' day together and I unfortunately, couldn't make it.  DH had a prior committment and no babysitter left me in a pickle, so I couldn't get there.  But I was able to participate in the card swap that we all did (18 of us!).  So I am going to share with you my top picks.  This first one is from one of my downline, Joanne, I just love the little flowers and the color combo - thank you Joanne!

This one is also from the newest addition to my little stampin' family - Dorothy.  It's just so bright and cheery and I'm so glad she got to go and have fun with lots of other demos!

I just love the color combination that this demo chose, Wild Wasabi being one of my all time faves!  You can check out her blog at http://www.creativeunwinding.blogspot.com/

This card is made my April Galbraith and I loved her layout on this card and the colors, (Rich Razzleberrry and Baja Breeze) I never would have thought to put those together, but it looks beautiful.  She has used the letterpress plate, I still have to give that a try and the little flowers again, I LOVE little flowers!  Thank you April.

And last but not least, is Cristina's card.  I can always count on Cristina for a beautiful creation, love her vintagy (if that's a word) style.  And you can never go wrong with pink and brown.  You can check out her creations at http://www.cristinascreativecorner.blogspot.com/.

Thank you ladies for all the great inspiration!

Aviary and Nursery Nest

Todays' card is made with quite a few new items, just had to try them all!  The Aviary set is not new, but the Nursery Nest DSP that co-ordinates with it is.  I just love that everything is already co-ordinated for me.  I am a matchy-matchy girl, so it just works well for me.  The two little frames are new and they are mini-versions of the regular ones - I LOVE them!  They come 2 in the package so you get them both, they work well for a frame just on your card front or for cutting out like I did here.  The brads are the new Lucky Limeade polka dot brads - these come with all the new in colors and of courrse, I love polka dots.  Really there isn't much I don't love about this new catalogue.  I also used the Tiny Tags and the Jewellery punch for the "hello" greetings.

Today is the rainiest July day I think I have ever seen!  My dh took the kids out this morning to his mom's for a visit, so I got to spend 2 hours, uninterrupted in my workshop!!  It was great, I just love having that time alone in there.  So I managed to get a couple of creations made to share with you soon!

Happy rainy Saturday and maybe you can find some time to play today!

Sending a little sympathy

This card was made using the Field Flowers set and the Four Frames and the idea is from the Idea Book and Catalogue as well.  I said it the other day too, but this year's ideas really are amazing.  I have bought certain stamps, just to make the projects shown in the catalogue.  Of course, I added  my own twist, and used my own color choice.  It is a 2 step stampin set which was fun to play with - adds so much more depth to your stamped imaged.  I am loving all my new things but there just aren't enough hours in the day and lately or as usualy I am up to my armpits in alligators!!!  Creating something is a little getaway from reality for me, I can go up to my workshop and the rest of the house disappears, unless of course, the "little" alligators follow me!

Take some time this weekend to do something you love, for you.  Refresh your mind, renew your spirit and go crazy with some stamps and ink! Enjoy

Easy Events

Here is another super cute and easy set to use.  It's called Easy Events and has 8 stamps, one for every occasion.  I just colored with my markers, added a little embellishment of some kind and had a quick card.  This set is so easy to use as simple, but you could also step it up and add some layers of designer paper, some ribbon and so on.  I am nearing the bedtime mark in my house and the stamp room is calling my name....who cares that the laundry is too!  It can wait till tomorrow, I need some alone time with my stamps!

Hopefully see you back here tomorrow with some amazing creation!

Button Buddies

Well, here it is, the long awaited Button Buddies stamp set.  I am in love with this cute, versatile little set.  It was alot of fun last night, when I got home from work and my box of all my new toys were waiting for me.  There is so many beautiful new things that I can't wait to play with.  I took these cute little 3X3 cards straight from the Idea Book and Catalogue.  This year's designs are so inspiring, there sometimes is no use in re-creating the wheel.  When short on time.....just CASE it!  These are simple, yet so, so cute!  I have paired them with the new greetings set called Petite Pairs.  They each have 2 stamps that match for example  "sending a kiss" matches "to make it all better".  Just perfect for the inside and outside!
Thanks for stopping by and if you don't have your new catalogue yet, then just contact me to get your copy - you honestly can't live without it!!

Happy Birthday

My daughter is off to a birthday party today and her friend likes to make cards and scrapbook, so what better gift than her own kit with everthing she needs to create a few fun goodies!  We used the new Flirtatious Designer Paper from the fabulous, new Idea Book and Catalogue!  You can view it online at http://www.sheilabatty.stampinup.net/ or contact me for your copy - host a workshop and its free to you!  The colors in this paper are just perfect for a "tween".  We made some pre-cut cards, decorated the tin and included buttons, ribbon, flowers, brads and some stamps so she can create her own masterpieces!  The flowers on the tin are the paper daisies and we dyed the smaller one to match our paper.  It was so easy, peasy to do with the re-inkers - just took some drying time. We created a box out of 2 12X12 pieces of cardstock - that was simple too.  ( I had received a baby gift in one from one of my downline and kept it as a template - thank you Joanne)   It was alot of fun to spend the time with my daughter creating it together - I love that she loves to be in my workshop with me, hopefully it will be something that we will share for years to come.

On another note, I held my annual garage sale of my retiring items today, it was busy, busy this morning, but there is still a fair amount left.  I have stamp sets, ribbon and paper mostly.  Just send me an email if you want to have a look at it, or I can send you a list of what stamp sets I have.

Have a great long weekend!
