Scrap Layout

I just love, love, love polka dots.  You know those quizzes you get on email sometimes, where they ask all sorts of questions like "polka dots or stripes?"  "blue or red?"  "steak or chicken"?  Well I will always pick polka dots!  So here is the layout that I created from the same tools and techniques as yesterday's card.  The only thing different is an alphabet stamp set for my title and one stamp from the Circle Circus set that I stamped in Versamark for my background.  So you see, you can create a scrapbook from your card making supplies.  Your page layout is just like making a card, except a large surface to work with.  Enjoy this beautiful sunny day, I'm off to drop kids at school, head to the gym and then out for lunch with the girls.

Have a great weekend!

See the Dots

Here's my quick little creations for today.  This card is inspired by a fellow demonstrator which I saw on the demonstrator site.  And when I say inspired by, I used the same technique she did (with polka dots) and that's about it.  The technique is called inlaid embossing.  I have adhered the polka dots to my large scallop square and then run them through the BigShot with the square lattice folder.  The card started out being a spring/easter card, but once I ran embossed it, it really looks like a quilt and the first set of colors I chose just seemed to say "baby", so I went from there and made the boy option as well.  Check back tomorrow when I will show you how I took the card layout and carried it over to a scrapbook layout!

Nature Walk Banner

Well, I finally finished my regional projects.  This is the banner that we made at Regionals when I attended.  I never even tried to put it together there as I had my little one with me and she just wasn't wanting to craft that day!!  So here it is, I really love the colors and how it turned out.  It was made using the Petal Cone Die and if you are in one of my clubs, you will get to see the many uses for this die - not just what you would first think.  It also used the Nature Walk set and lots of fun embellisments.  Enjoy!

Simply Adorned

Here is the charm bracelet I just finished.  It is the Simply Adorned product line from Stampin' Up.  You really have to see them in real life to appreciate the quality. These pictures just don't do them justice - honestly.  I think ever since I dropped my camera the focus just doesn't seem to work right.  These charms are 5/8" - so tiny, but will fit a tiny little embellishment.  I made one for each of my children with their initials and of course, because I love a little bling, I had to have the bobbles as well.  I am really happy with how it turned out, I think I may also order the necklace next as you can switch out the charms.  They are just little clasps so I could move them back and forth as I wish!  If you are in one of my clubs, I'll have this with me tonite so you can really see how pretty they are.  Check out the full line of product on my website at http://www.sheilabatty.stampinup.net/.
