Call me crazy....

I think I might just be a little crazy after the day I've had today.  Somedays you just don't stop running.....3 kids, sport days, order drop offs and spice pickups (love my Epicure!), groceries, gym - and I'm supposed to be on holidays - I think I get more of a rest when I actually work!  The last 2 days have been like that and I am looking forward to tomorrow when maybe, just maybe, I'll get to that pile of never ending laundry.

Today's card confirms that I may be crazy....Christmas already?  I just got this set as a benefit of being a dmeonstrator - I can pre-order new catalogue goodies!  So I couldn't just let this cute guy sit on the shelf until December.  He is watercolored on the awesome SU watercolor paper, I used the Northern Flurry embossing folder on the back ground and the bling, of course, is the glass glitter from SU.  I made one more Christmas card as well, but will save that post for another day

Enjoy this sunny weather we are having here in my corner of the world - before we head back to winter and rain tomorrow - Happy Stampin'

Saying goodbye to an old fave.....

Today's card is made with the Pick a Petal set, which is retiring at the end of the month.  I have always loved this set, but it was kinda gathering some dust as I enjoyed the new things that have entered my space.  I pulled this one out to play a little before it's gone forever.  My club girls made this last week and enjoyed seeing a different way of using the "flower" set.  I just think the ladybug is so cute and of course, the mandatory bling was added to her wings.  I have to say those rhinestones are a top ten for me.  My son has a birthday party again tomorrow for a little girl in his class (I think the girls really like him, it's the second girl party in a few weeks he's been invited to)  This should work perfectly for her!

Don't forget to place your retiring orders for those things that you can't live without!  They will be gone forever as of June 30, visit my website at http://www.sheilabatty.stampinup.net/ to see the retiring lists and while you're there don't forget to browse the clearance rack - there are some unbelievable deals on there - just designate me as your demonstrator to receive your preferred pricing and hostess benefits!

Happy Retirement

I was asked to make the card for my son's grade 1 teacher who is retiring this year.  I made a version of this a little bit ago so I just made it out of a whole sheet of cardstock so it would be big enough for all the parents to sign,  I also added the buttons, flowers and pearls.  I also did the background with the champagne  shimmer paint  Hope she likes it!

Here's hopin' the Canucks can pull it off tonite!

Pennant Parade

Happy Monday Peeps!  Here is another card I made using a new set called Pennant Parade and of course, it has a co-ordinating punch that punches triangles and scallop triangles - so cute!!!  The green shown here is one of the new in colors called Lucky Limeade, hard to tell in the picture because of lighting but it is a brighter green than Old Olive, the purple is called Wisteria.  I'm sure you'll be seeing many more cards with all the ideas of how to use this set.

Just a quick one tonite as I'm off to watch the hockey game - GO CANUCKS GO!!!

A Little Hello

OK, so I know I'm not allowed to show you the catalogue yet, but I am allowed to post projects made with my new goodies.  Can't you spot the 5 new items on this card?   There are 2 new in colors, new polka dot scalloped ribbon, a new greeting, and new DSP.  The ribbon is just so darn cute.  I am always so excited to get my new things and get in my workshop to make some fun things, but then I think I am too excited because I just can't decide what to make, then I don't like what I make, then I just end up with a whole bunch of cut up pieces of paper and frustrated!  That's what happened last night, but after a night's sleep, I snuck in there this morning during naptime and felt much better - still a whole bunch of cut up scraps everywhere - LOL!  This one is made from an old "mojo monday" sketch.  Sometimes that's the best place for me to start, that and my Color Coach.  I love that thing!  I tend to get stuck in a rut and always reach for the same colors, but with that tool, it challenges me to try something a little different.

Mother of Pearl

Happy Wednesday Peeps!  This is like my Friday, I am done work for the week, well, my work outside the home.   I just received my box of new catalogue goodies and I am pumped, can't wait to get some time to create with them.  Keep checkin' back, 'cuz I am hoping to have some things to show you.  Today's post is a mother of pearl technique that I learned from the exclusive Stampin' Up publication for demonstrators.  It is done with shimmer paint and ink.  I just love the itty bitty flower punch and of course, lots of bling on this one.  The fork bow is an all-time fave, so easy and turns out perfect everytime! I would love to show you how to make the fork bow and the mother of pearl at your own workshop - contact me today to book it!  The BigShot is also a must for this card, that Top Note is simply the best.

Hope you feel inspired to get creating - forget about the dishes, they'll wait, forget about the laundry, it'll be there in the morning.....as for me...my glass of wine and box of new stampin' stuff is calling my name!

Lovely as a Tree

This card was a quick and easy one layer.  It involves simple masking and sponging.  I just masked off the top and bottom portions of the card front and began sponging the grass in Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz, the sky was done in Baja Breeze and Marina Mist.  Before removing the masks, I stamped the trees from Lovely as a Tree in Old Olive so that the trunks were cut off to make them appear further in the background.  Then in Early Espresso I stamped the trees that you can see in the forefront.  This card as with most of my cards could be used for any occasion, just change your greeting.  Since Father's Day is right around the corner, I thought it would work for that....don't think my dad checks my blog!

Ciao for now!

In my thoughts.....

Today;s card is another pretty one - totally depends on my mood when I sit down to create.  Sometimes it;s gotta be cute, or pretty or vintage.  I would say those three sum up my style.  I jusy love the little pearls from Stampin' Up.  They add so much to each project.  The paper daisies, the seam binding, the trnket key - just love 'em all!

The sun is finally shining here in my corner of the world and I'm off to take baby for a walk
Enjoy you weekend!

Somethin' pretty

Today's card is a monochromatic one - Very Vanilla with some Champagne Shimmer Paint - of course.  I also used the distressing kit that is available in the Idea Book and Catalogue - it contains a few different inks and I used the Tea Stain.  I made this one into a sympathy card, but change up the greeting and it could be used for any occasion.   Enjoy!

On another note.....eeeeekkkkk!!  Have you heard my squeals the last couple of days as I have gotten a sneak peak at a few products from the new catalogue about to be released July 1.  I have also been chatting with other demonstrators across Canada and the United States and some of them already have their catalogues so they are "spilling the beans"  and oooohhhh I just love what I am hearing.  I saw a peak of the front of the catalogue and it looks absolutely beautiful - chalked full of great new, exciting things!  Can't wait to get my pre-order (a benefit of being a demonstrator, you can get your hands on things before anyone else!) and start making some projects which I will be able to share with you soon.  It should arrive by the end of next week.

That's all for now, I'm heading back to the demonstrator site to get some more detailed insider information ! Stay tuned!
