Downline meeting projects

Last week, I held my first real official downline meeting.  I have always attended meetings with my upline and 1 or 2 of my own downline, but now my little team of stampers is growing! - so proud (heehee).   There were five of us that enjoyed the evening with stamping, chocolate and a little wine.  The first project is one that I cased from Jackie Topa - she is an amazingly talented demonstrator and so wonderful for sharing her idea.  You can see her blog at http://www.jackietopa.typepad.com/.  This is using the Petal Cone Die as well as the Fun Flowers Die and if you don't have the BigShot yet, what are you waiting for.  I just love mine and use it probably everytime I sit down to make something.   The second one is a card made with the Clearly For You set, it's a very elegant set and the colors are Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.  Funny how once the name changed to Crumb Cake, everyone uses it way more than when it was call Kraft!!  I'm off to my workshop tonite to get my club projects ready for next week.  I have also tackled my box of pictures - oh my goodness there must be at least 400 pictures in there that I swore I was going to scrapbook (when I first started scrappin - dillusional me!).  So I have bought some photo albums and am trying to get them all in there - what a job.   I would love to be up to date on the albums, both photo and scrapbooks, but where or where can I find the time.

Hope to be back sometime this week - have a good one!

Nature Walk

This is another card with the beautiful Nature Walk set and the co-ordinating designer paper - Botannical Gazette.  The whole color scheme is Very Vanilla and Basic Black with a little crumb cake thrown in for a shadowing effect around the stamped images.  I have also stamped over my designer paper with a versamark and the floral image from this set which you can't see in this picture (sorry)

We are into second week of spring break in my house....hmmmm, will we make it?  I sure wish the weather was better instead of being stuck in the house all day.  I wouldn't mind so much if the kids didn't mind, but they just get bored - where as I could spend the whole day in my craft room - I really need a nanny!  LOL!
I am trying to get in there today and create some things for this weeks's blog posts as well as my downline meeting and two clubs next week.  Hope to have some fabulous creation for you tomorrow!

Nature Walk and a note about upcoming scrapbook class

Here is a Nature Walk card that I began with.  I watercolored the butterfly and died my pearls!!  The pearls didn't turn out exactly how I had wanted but I'll need to practice that technique a little more.  This is such a beautiful set and perfect for so many occasions.  And of course, if you have the set you must have the co-ordinating paper - Botanical Gazzette.

On another note, check out my website (http://www.sheilabatty.stampinup.net/)  where you can purchase these products, but also check my calendar as I am planning two scrapbook workshops.  I have been asked repeatedly when I will do another one and have decided to offer the same class on two different dates in order to accomodate everyone.  The album will be a Christmas theme (I know, a little out of season) but how many of you have actually done something with all your Christmas photos.  And think, if you make it now, you will have a gift for next year already.!  Class size is limited so email me today at brian.sheila@shaw.ca to reserve your spot.

Vintage Wallpaper

These two cards were CASED from Brenda Hukriede.  Another demonstrator who I saw on our Stampin' Up forums.  When you are a demonstrator there is a "Stampin' Connection" website where demos all over Canada and the US, share tips and ideas and tons of new stuff everyday - just a little perk for demos!

I loved the classic, simple, clean design of her card.  The only thing I did a little differently was colors, which are Regal Rose and Old Olive.  I created the front panel in two different ways - one of them is brayered ink over the DE-bossed side and the other is brayered ink over the EM-bossed side.  It's so hard to get a really great picture, so club girls....you'll get to see these in real life!

Enjoy your afternoon, I'm off to the swimming pool to try and occupy my little "spring breakers"!  It'll be baby's first time in the pool as well.

See you tomorrow with some Nature Walk

Simply Adorned

I can't believe that I forgot to share this with all of you.  This was a gift that my sister, and downline, made for me and gave it to me at our recent trip to the Vancouver Regionals.  It's a tiny scissor charm, I love it.  This picture is really not great, so hard taking pics at night in my house.  I felt very special to have received this....and now everytime I grab my scissors I am reminded of her and am thankful that our relationship has grown so much closer ......all because of our common addiction!!

Enjoy.....

Sweet and Sour Owls

Here is just a quick little card I did yesterday afternoon.  The owls are just so cute, the layout quick and easy and I think I'm done with the Sweet and Sour DSP for a bit.  I like to have a whole bunch of cards in one paper to display and I made about 7 cards yesterday.  I'm onto a new set now, but you'll have to check back tomorrow to see those ones!

Have a fabulous rainy day.....AGAIN!!

I Cased Myself

This is a card that I have made before in Early Espresso and Blushing Bride, I made it again in different colors (Sweet and Sour Specialty DSP) and changed up the embellishments a little.  Sometimes when I haven't been able to create for a while, I get a little stuck, so re-creating something gets the mojo going again!  This is the Birthday Bakery hostess set that you can earn for free when you host your own workshop - we could make this card at your workshop!

Hopefully I get a little more time this afternoon to make some more things to share!

Circles and Scallops

Happy rainy day everyone!  Here are a few little creations I have made in the last couple of days.  Today I am home with a sick child (the oldest) and stuck in the house on such a stormy day.  A perfect day to steal a few moments away during naptime.

I have been on a bit of a circle/scallop craze and am loving my new scallop and circle dies as well as the Sweet and Sour Specialty Designer paper.  I'm looking for some spring colors to spruce up my displays.  The bottom card got a little heavy with those big buttons on it so I had to hold it in place otherwise it wants to roll.  The stamps I used are Funky Four, Define Your Life, Bella Toile and Well Scripted.

Enjoy....I have one more quick post and then off to check on the patient and get the others some lunch!

Make "n" Takes at Regionals

Here are those cards I promised a few days ago, boy, am I a bad blogger or what!!  My days just seem to end before I know it and my to do list remains a mile long!  I really like the top card, the colors are me, the style is me but the second one was a little out of my box.  It's always good to stretch ourselves, you never know what you'll find out about yourself. We used the Nature Walk set to do all of our stamping.  There is also a banner that I have yet to put together - that'll be my weekend project.  I'm going to be finding some time for myself to stamp just for fun this weekend.

I am starting my third monthly club tonite and can't wait to meet the new girls.  Showing and creating with people who have never stamped before re-energizes me to be excited about it again.

Make someone smile today and hug the ones you love!

Photo Op with Shelli Gardner

Here are the pictures of my sister and I with Shelli.  Kaelyn slept right through it. (I really don't like looking at pictures of myself!!)  Shelli and all the girls from Stampin' Up were wearing cardigans in Baja Breeze from the Leadership Conference.  They looked fabulous!  One of the girls had on a Simply Adorned necklace that she had made to co-ordinate with her outfit - wish I had a job like that!!  Maybe when I'm all grown up, that's what I'll be! LOL!

See you tomorrow with some of the things we made at the conference

Favorite Swaps from Regionals

Hello peeps!  So I am back from the Regional Conference in Vancouver and am overwhelmed and inspired.  It was alot of fun to be with a whole bunch of girls who are crazy about stampin' - we get giddy over the littlest things!  I thought I'd share some of the swaps I received.  A swap is card trading basically.  I made 36 card fronts and traded other demonstrators for what they made, so I came home with 36 new ideas!  This card here is my most favorite of all the ones I received.  It is made by another local demo, Sandra Kroeck and I absolutely love it.  She travelled with me from here and we peeked at swaps in the vehicle while waiting for the ferry and I wanted to swap right there, I wasn't waiting for the next day, I didn't want to miss out - so thank you Sandra!  She used the Bliss stamp (free Sale A Bration set) with More Mustard and Basic Black.  I am going to be using this idea for my club tonite, she did such a beautiful job, I couldn't help wanting to make it myself.

Here is another local demonstrator's talent, Judy Cadorette.  She has used the Nature Walk stamp set, which was given to us for FREE at the regional - what a great company Stampin' Up is!!  It's hard to tell in the picture, but she has made the bird almost look like velvet - a beautiful card - thanks Judy!
This one was "sew" cute!  I really loved the button embosslit that she used to make all those button and the colors really caught my eye.  She didn't leave me any info except that her name is Gail - so thanks for the cute card Gail.
This one is from my upline, Lisa Gray, who is also local.  The stamp set is Always, again hard to tell in the pic, but she has some shimmer paint over top of the bird and it's so suttle and sparkly at the same time, it's verry pretty.  I loved her color choices as well.

And this one really caught my eye because of it's simple design and butterflies - really lovin' butterflies right now.   I saw this one in her bag of goodies from across a couple of tables and I had to run over to her and get it - swapping really is so much fun.  It reminds me of sticker trading when I was in school. This is from Sandra Farrell and she has a blog you can check out at http://www.stamperontheshore.blogspot.com/.

So it was a great day, tons of stampin', great demonstrations by Stampin' Up employees as well as other demos, free stamps being given away 4 times during the day, cupcakes for snack break - just such a great event.  I will have to get the pictures from my sister and post the one of us with the Stampin' Up  Co-founder and CEO, Shelli Gardner.

Long post, I know, so I'm off now to finish setting up for my workshop tonite!
