Little Love Letter

Hello my peeps!  Sorry, I haven't been on here, but I have been quite sick with the cold/flu that everyone seems to have.  I got it last Friday and just started feeling better yesterday.  Then baby got it also on top of teething, so needless to say there hasn't been alot of time for any creating.  I have been holding on to these to post them until today because they are gifts for my downline (other demonstrators on my team) at the Regional Conference we are attending tomorrow!!!  We are so excited, it's going to be so much fun.  I made the little purse with the top note die, the scallop circle and the circle. I filled them with mints/candies. I thought they turned out so darn cute!  They will also get the co-ordinating notepads.   I didn't want any of them seeing them, but I'm hoping I am safe today and no one checks my blog!  If you are in my downline and are reading this - SURPRISE!  I'm off to pack since I havne't done anything yet.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you Monday with some great samples and creations from the conference.

Easter Blossoms

Just a quick one tonite as I have a screaming baby right now, and between sicks kids, not feeling well myself and parent teacher interviews, I'm about to go out of my mind!! LOL!  Here is the card my club girls made last month using the emboss resist technique.  Just watched a video tutorial on another cool emboss resist technique so if I get some time on our snow day tomorrow I may try it out.

See you tomorrow - maybe....if I survive the night

Just For You...

This is another card I made the other day when I actually got more than 30 minutes in my workshop.  These are the paper flowers and I ran it through my BigShot with the Polka Dot embossing folders.  I think I may be addicted to embossing folders.  I can't seem to make a card without adding one in there somewhere!  The colors are Soft Suede and Very Vanilla - there's an antique brad in the middle of the layered flowers.  I love it when the ideas flow easily, the mood strikes and it just all works out.

En Francais and Butterflies

Happy Tuesday peeps!  Here is a card that can really be an anything card for any occasion, just change the greeting inside and it's whatever you need.  The colors are Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.  Again, another very simple but an effective "wow" card.  It must be the weather, but I am just wanting to be in my workshop all the time, don't feel like doing any housework!!  Can't the kitchen clean itself - oh well maybe this evening I'll get back in there.  I've started my swaps for Regionals and I decided to make 36, so I've really got to get going and get them finished as well as prep for my 3 clubs in March.  This card could also be  a contender for my Chics 'n' Chocolate evening - don't wait to sign up as seating is limited.

Have a lovely afternoon

Happy Valentine's Day

Here is a Valentine from the Greeting Card Kids set (Stampin' Up).  I have paper pieced her little dress and tried to get a close up for you.  The colors are Poppy Parade (cardstock and DSP) and Basic Black.  Sometimes when I find that a card is looking a little blah, an extra thin mat of black makes it all pop.  I have also used the embossing folder the make the polka dots and don't know exactly what the technique is called, but I used an extra piece of cardstock with an oval cut out of the center in order to leave the blank in the middle.  Polka dots are my fave - just love 'em!  This card is a contender for my upcoming Chics 'n' Chocolate night on Feb 22.  I will, of course, modify it to be something other than Valentines Day.  My youngest napped a little longer today so I actually got to play in my workshop.  I may just take a picture to show you the huge mess I created!  I am not a neat and tidy crafter, we'll see if I'm brave enough to share my messy side!

If you live in the area and would like to attend my Chics 'n' Chocolate night, leave a comment with your contact info or email me at brian.sheila@shaw.ca.  We will be making 3 cards ($12) and it is also a mystery hostess, so that means you could be the lucky winner and go home with some free goodies.

Check back tomorrow for some more of today's creation.....ttfn

Elements of Style

Here is my "catnappin" creation for this afternoon.  I literally made it while she napped for only 1/2 hour!!!  Uuughh!  Thought I would post it today, since I may not make it back to blogland this weekend.  Anyways, it was inspired by my sister, so although she did the same idea, I completely changed the colors, stamp sets and embellishments and added the Rock and Roll technique along with the masking.  The colors are  Concord Crush, Old Olive and Sahara Sand.  That is the beauty of having a sketch, or being inspired by something you see somewhere.  Could be in a magazine, children's cloths....anywhere and anything really.  Take something you like and put your own "self" stamp on it!

Have a great weekend!

Valentine's Day Projects

Well, here is what I've been doing non stop for the last couple of days - making the kids valentine's for their classmates.  My son has 22 and my daughter has 27.  I still need to cut more milk cartons, fill them, address them, and of course, pretty them up a little with some stamps and maybe some bling!  This weekend will be Valentine's central and I'll have the kids helping.

I also need to get going on my swaps for the Stampin' Up Regional Event coming to Vancouver in a couple of weeks. I think I'm going to try to make about 30 or 40.  These are cards fronts that we make and then trade with other demos for new ideas. I am so excited that it is so close this year.  I went to one in Seattle a couple of years ago and they are so much fun.  Stampin' Up really knows how to throw a party.  If you have ever thought you might like to be a demonstrator, let me know, because I can bring a guest and then you would get to see how great it really is!  There is free stamps, tons and tons of display ideas, lunch, swaps with other demos (no pressure to sign up at the event, just a good time) - it's a blast - can't wait.

Well, I hear little peeps coming over the baby monitor, nap time is over for this morning.  I hope to get in my room and create today.  I was visiting my sister's workshop yesterday and  I always am inspired.

Sale A Bration and Scrappin'

Here is a quick post with a card made with a Sale A Bration stamp set and a scrap page.  The card is a quick one layer, so fast and easy.  I made it "pop" a little with some dimensionals and crystal effects on the stars.  All of my club girls made this card this month. (Email me or leave a comment if you'd like more info about clubs).  The scrap page is my son when he was about 2 telling his grandma he could wink!  Too cute!    A few friends came over on Friday night and we scrapped most of the night away - something I haven't done in a long, long time.  We were scrappin' until close to midnight - don't remember the last time I stayed up that late intentionally - LOL!  The paper is from Stampin' Up from the Celebration DSP.  I cut the cork letters with my alphabet and the BigShot (everyone needs one of these)  The cork was some old stuff from a bulletin board and was quite thick, I was impressed when it cut the letters no problem.   Well that's it for tonite, I hope to be back tomorrow with some Valentine projects that I (my kids and I) will be making for their classmates.  49 should be no problem, right?

I'm back!!

I am so excited, my husband figured out why my camera wasn't downloading my pictures - what a smart boy!!  For those who wondered why I dropped of the face of blogland was because my camera had a little accident!(my fault)  It seems that when it dove off of the computer desk during an attempted download, it bent the little piece on the cord and it wasn't connecting properly - wish I had discovered that before I took it to the shop for a nice little bill!  Anyways, all is happy again and I am able to start posting my creations once more.  So in saying that, I need to take a few pics of my latest creations and will be back with those shortly.

Thank you for your patience and stop by often to see what's been happening in my workshop....
