Brick Wall

Well, little miss is asleep!!!  It's been a long day, the doctor thinks she may have strep throat, poor little chicken.  So here is a post, since I have to work tomorrow (as long as our night goes well).

Another guy card for you....I've actually made 4 guy cards in the last little bit and they have come quite easily.  They are usually painfully difficult for me, but I am happy with how they have turned out lately.  This is the brick wall technique along with the Extremem Skateboard.  The "bricks" were cut to 1/2 inch by 1 inch.  The images were stamped in 2 different colors, the first one was Basic Gray stamped off first, then just straight Basic Gray and then Black Stazon.

Happy Monday.....I am at home today with a sick baby, fever that I can't seem to bring down for 3 days now, so we are off to the doctor today.  No sleep at all for 2 nights now and finally got her to have a nap.  Why is it that my children don't sleep when they are sick.  My sister said I got the short end of the stick when it comes to sleeping babies - she is so right!

So with a a few short minutes to spare, here is Monday's card.  This is one that I made for a nephew who turned 25.  It was really so easy, it's made with.....you guessed it - tin foil!  I ran it through the BigShot with a texture plate.   I thought it looked like a kickplate or tailgate.  The greeting is stamped on the Decorative Label punch and then matted with the same punch (just cut in half)

Mini Album

Happy Saturday everyone.  Today I have posted some pictures of the mini album I made with a couple of my clubs for National Scrapbooking month.  This was an easy peasy little album to make.  The colors are Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake.  I cut the front and back with the Scallop Square and then ran it through the vintage wallpaper folder - if you don't have the BigShot yet you really need it (LOL!).  I am in love with mine and use it on just about every project.  After the embossing folder, I used my sponge and rubbed champagne shimmer paint all over the front.  The inside accordian is just 2 pieces of 4X12 cardstock, scored every 4 inches.  You need to fold them back and forth and then attach the ends together to form the long piece.  You could add another piece as well if you wanted a bigger album.  Then I just embellished it with co-ordinating products - buttons, flowers, vintage tags.  I find that when putting an album together you need to choose your "theme" and stick with that, by that I mean going with the same colors, it looked a little vintage, so I used a vintage tag.  It will keep you album looking cohesive and not all mixed up.  I even printed my pictures in a sepia tone so they would not clash with each other.  So I hope you feel inspired to try it out - maybe you have a little extra time this afternoon....you could put one together and enjoy some creative time!

Some Sunny Fun (wishful thinking)

I am posting this a little early, it is supposed to be for Friday, but just in case I don't get time to get on here tomorrow, I thought I'd get it on here early.  I just love this card - it was CASED (copy and share everything) from another demonstrator. I added a little bling, because I love bling as well as polka dots!  I loved stamping and coloring on the Crumb Cake. I added a little white gel pen to the polka dots to really make them stand out and by the way, SU has the best gel pen ever!  The designer paper and ribbon are Pear Pizzazz.   I always think that my images should be on white or vanilla, but I thought this was really effective.  This is a new stamp set from the current mini catalogue called Sunny Fun.  It was also a set that I earned for FREE, always so much fun to get free stuff from Stampin' Up - such a great company to be part of.  So this is my wishful thinking for some summer weather! 

Finally.....a post!

Finally, I have made a couple of cards, just for fun.  I know it has been a long time, I apologize....life just gets in the way of stampin' sometimes.  Anyways, I managed to get a few done, so there should be a few days of posts coming.  Whenever life is hectic and there is just too much to do,  spending some time in my workshop creating something always rejuventates me

My son informed/reminded me of a birthday party he was invited to that is today!  It is for a little girl in his class, so off I ran to my stamp room after school drop off and the first nap of the day.  My inspiration for the colors and pattern for this card was a set of my daughter's sheets.  They are white with the pink and green polka dots and well, as mentioned in an earlier post - I happen to love polka dots.  They can always get some creativity flowing for me.  A cupcake stamp (Crazy for Cupcakes), some rhinestones and a little smooch and presto - one little girl birthday card.

The next one is also a birthday card - a big girl birthday card.  Early Espresso and Very Vanilla, Define Your Life stamps, some ribbon and pearls and it was done.  I am loving my scallop circle die with the co-ordinating circle die.  I love how quickly this one came together, I find if I spend too much time worrying about the layout or embellishments I can get frustrated, so usually it's my first attempt that I end up liking best

Scrap Layout

I just love, love, love polka dots.  You know those quizzes you get on email sometimes, where they ask all sorts of questions like "polka dots or stripes?"  "blue or red?"  "steak or chicken"?  Well I will always pick polka dots!  So here is the layout that I created from the same tools and techniques as yesterday's card.  The only thing different is an alphabet stamp set for my title and one stamp from the Circle Circus set that I stamped in Versamark for my background.  So you see, you can create a scrapbook from your card making supplies.  Your page layout is just like making a card, except a large surface to work with.  Enjoy this beautiful sunny day, I'm off to drop kids at school, head to the gym and then out for lunch with the girls.

See the Dots

Here's my quick little creations for today.  This card is inspired by a fellow demonstrator which I saw on the demonstrator site.  And when I say inspired by, I used the same technique she did (with polka dots) and that's about it.  The technique is called inlaid embossing.  I have adhered the polka dots to my large scallop square and then run them through the BigShot with the square lattice folder.  The card started out being a spring/easter card, but once I ran embossed it, it really looks like a quilt and the first set of colors I chose just seemed to say "baby", so I went from there and made the boy option as well.  Check back tomorrow when I will show you how I took the card layout and carried it over to a scrapbook layout!
